2022.01.25 05:13 pissedOffKangaroo Processing painful feelings

My therapist tells me that I am carrying around emotion baggage throughout the day and that I need to spend at least 10 or so minutes a day to process these feelings. He suggested writing them out or using a text to speech app to get them out. I've tried this a few times but I just don't think it works hardly at all. Like 1% comes out and I need more momentum to get a flow of emotions.
My inner demons are just too powerful. I spent too much of my vulnerable childhood around bullies which my parents and authority figures so it's like they're still there in my mind making fun of me and mocking me when I need to allow myself to be vulnerable to process painful emotions.
I hoping to possibly find some effective meditation techniques for this.

2022.01.25 05:13 Willing-Attention732 My feelings about ATOTO’s Single DIN Headunit F7G1A8PE.

I installed this ATOTO F7G1A8PE single-DIN radio in my Toyota Tundra 2005 with an upgraded sound system from the factory and overall I am very pleased with the sound and all the features it offers. The installation was straightforward using delicated interphases from AXS. Except it was a bit more work to make the steering wheel control to work, nevertheless I feel the quality of the stereo is good, especially for the price, leading me to buy a rear view camera that I am very pleased with the picture quality, configuration and LRV feature! If you want an affordable stereo but also with good function, give ATOTO F7 Single-DIN 8" car stereo a try.

2022.01.25 05:13 MetalingusMike Controller vs Mouse & Keyboard - why controller is actually best for CoD

So there's always a debate between controller and mouse & keyboard players. Mouse & keyboard players complain about Aim Assist being "overpowered", controller players complain that mouse & keyboard players are much faster and find it "unfair". There's truth to both of these sides.
Controller analogue sticks have inherent flaws that need to be mitigated somewhat. The inherent lack of range and inability to efficiently stop on target - a well tuned Response Curve improves practical range and Aim Assist Slowdown helps stop on target. These make using a controller for FPS games, especially at a high level, possible.
Now Aim Assist in CoD and most games that support controller input is a little "over-tuned". There's two parts to Aim Assist in CoD as an example: Slowdown as I've mentioned and another part called Rotation. It's this Rotation that many mouse & keyboard players are actually frustrated with, not Slowdown. How Rotation works is the game will aim slightly towards an enemy whilst aiming and moving, it also centres your camera up close. Being realistic, it's almost like a very mild version of Auto-Aim. Instead of acting as a deficiency mitigation like Slowdown, it's literally adding input to your experience and partially aiming for you.
It may appear to only give a subtle advantage to casual controller players, but it's very easy to abuse and take full advantage of. It works whilst moving and the faster you move and larger distance you cover in a short amount of time: the intensity of the effect increases. Which is why many good players and even average players abuse advanced movement, as not only does having cracked movement make you a harder target to kill - it also makes aiming significantly easier as the game takes a lot of control of your aim if you're executing very fast movements like a 90 degree slide cancel or a strafe-bunnyhop. Rotation shouldn't be a thing in all honesty, imo.
This isn't a post hating on controllers, I'm literally a console player myself. But it's an objective analysis to why mouse & keyboard players hate Aim Assist.
Now onto mouse & keyboard. The reason why controller players complain about them is, especially with a good mouse & keyboard player - they have a lot of advantages. Tracking is by default more difficult to the average mouse player, but it's something a good player can master. Being able to flick is inherently a large advantage to using a mouse. Not only can you easily control much higher sensitivities than controllers can allow, but once mastered you can have pinpoint precision as well. Something like performing a 180 degree flick to headshot an enemy posted behind a headglitch is much easier and faster using a mouse.
Another advantage which nobody really talks about is movement speed. Whilst controller analogue sticks provide better control of fine movements, a keyboard provides much quicker input. They get to accelerate at 100% speed with one press, there is no time needed to move their thumbs to full stick deflection like with a controller. This makes executing advanced movement much easier on keyboard. Yes the learning curve is more difficult than with controller, but once mastered you can abuse movement much more with a keyboard than on controller.
But the thing is, the benefits of each input are very situational. Going back to Modern Warfare 2019, this game even after all this time still has more mouse & keyboard players on it (ratio wise) compared to Cold War and Vanguard. Why? Well that game benefited mouse input. The maps were cluttered with objects and angles, often highly asymmetrical map design. Footsteps are also very loud. It also didn't use a traditional Minimap. The way it was tuned promoted relying on reaction time over most other skills, which means that mouse players & keyboard that often rely purely on their flicking skills had quite a large advantage in this game compared to most controller players - especially when paired with cracked movement with a keyboard.
But the thing is, Modern Warfare 2019 doesn't play like the typical CoD game. In most CoD games, especially ones more competitively balanced like BO2 - controllers are the best input. A game such as BO2 has mostly symmetrical maps that follow a 3-Lane map design, with not too much in the way to create additional angles and clutter. That game also used a traditional Minimap. The footsteps were nowhere near as loud and Ninja was a Perk rather than a time limited Field Upgrade (Dead Silence). You can't just rely on mouse flicks and listening to footsteps in that game, especially against the best players. This style of CoD game, which is what most play like, highly benefits controllers.
This is where the hidden advantage of controllers comes into play. I say "hidden" as not many people have thought about this, especially mouse & keyboard players. The real advantage to using a controller in CoD at least, isn't the Aim Assist. It's the ability to centre ones camera. Unlike using a mouse which is a 1:1 hand movement to input, amplifying all your small micro-movement and shakes, along with having to lift up your mouse regularly - a controller has none of these characteristics. This allows for almost perfect camera centring. The ability to smoothly glide your camera through the map, almost like you're a cameraman moving a wheel based movie camera around a movie set. Games that don't promote rapid changes in camera movement benefit controllers massively, especially when combined with analogue stick movement - being able to move at whatever speed you want, with fine control. You can try and mimic the centring ability that controllers have using a low sensitivity with a mouse, but it still falls short. Even CS:GO Pros who use a low sensitivity, when peaking around corners have to resort to small flicks a lot. Many maps in that game actually suit traditional CoD gameplay, but you just can't centre your camera as perfectly as with controller.
Even if Aim Assist was rebalanced to remove Rotation and focused only on having a well tuned Slowdown, mouse & keyboard players still wouldn't be able to compete with the best controller players - at least in traditionally designed CoD games. Heck, this is true for Halo as well. The design of that game generally promotes a heavy centring playstyle. Even without Rotation, no mouse & keyboard player would beat controller Pros. Now looking at a game like Fortnite, that has a lot of rapid camera movement - this is where mouse & keyboard shines and is primarily why most Fortnite Pros use mouse & keyboard, it's simply suited for that game.
Mouse & keyboard players still would lose to controller players in traditionally designed CoD games due to the centring advantage of controller, even if the Aim Assist was nerfed by removing Rotation.

2022.01.25 05:13 AngelofVerdun How Do Some Pagans Celebrate Gods From Both Norse and Celtic Paganism?

TLDR - Curious how people who practice more of an Eclectic Paganism - or primarily focus on one religion but honocelebrate some aspects of another - reconcile the celebration of different gods if they believe they truly exist, even if in just an immaterial form?
Hey all - I am someone who is early in their Pagan journey - so excuse the ignorance. I have been focusing much of my time learning about Norse Paganism because the majority of my family is from Sweden - and I have just been drawn to it more. However, I have also started learning a bit about Celtic Paganism. I like the idea of being a bit of an Eclectic Pagan, but with much more of a focus on the Norse Religion. I like the idea of primarily practicing Norse Paganism but also celebrating and honoring Celtic gods. It seems like this isn't totally unusual, though correct me if I am wrong.
But something has been bugging me a exactly do Eclectic Pagans approach their Gods? For example, if you believed in and prayed/celebrated Gods from both Celtic and Norse Paganism, does that not conflict with one another? For example, both religions have gods/goddesses of fertility. Do Eclectic Pagans believe gods in both religions exist together? Do they, or any Polytheists - that believe in sets of Gods from differing cultures believe that they all exist and should be celebrated and prayed to? Or do they believe they are one and the same? Or maybe they believe in just the Norse Gods, but celebrate Celtic Gods out of respect?
I guess I am just curious about the divide there. Would it not be "awkward" to have an altar to gods in the Norse religion - but then be celebrating a Celtic holiday that honors a god/gods in the Celtic religion? I personally believe the gods represent tangible and intangible ideas/forces in nature/the universe so I think I can sort of reconcile in my head the idea that they could all be one and the same and just have different names based on the people who originally believed in them. But would love to know what others think/or approach the subject.

2022.01.25 05:13 x_Mr_DiBBs How about a COD 3 Map remake?

So since Sledgehammer has always gone back to previous cod's to remake fan favorites from those games that never really got the remake treatment they deserved. It got me thinking about COD 3 Maps, those maps were HUGE. Like the one that always sticks out to me was Eder Dam, I remember late nights with my brothers playing 4 player split screen till the 360 would overheat from having sniper battles near the broken bridge central point. Maybe it's the nostalgia bug hitting me, but that map will forever hold a special place in my heart and now with pacing avaliable in Vanguard (When they decide to work). Some of those other maps would benefit greatly and play beautifully as GW Maps like Eder Dam, Poisson, or Les Ormes. Like their were some incredible maps in COD 3 but they never get noticed. (Also after looking on the cod wiki, no COD 3 map have ever been remade and that is sad to me because the game was never released on pc. This would be a great way to keep these maps alive.)

2022.01.25 05:13 Jazzvani Birthing parents that went back to work...

When did you start feeling close to normal (whatever your normal is) at work?
I had 16 weeks of leave. I've been back almost 3 months and am:struggling a lot! It is a WFH role that I actually love...but Ibdon't think that I'm performing any where near pre baby levels and am pretty stressed out about it most of the time.
I also walked into a brand new team/manager who isn't the most compassionate person. So I don't feel comfortable at all talking to her about it.
We currently have a nanny who is great. But our kid is incredibly high needs and is constantly fussy all day. It doesn't help that I can hear him cry all day. 😭 (despite the noise canceling headphones)
Any tips?
